Fast Track Switching – Live at the Hannover Messe 2009

Fast Track Switching

Innovative Technology for Promising Solutions

HARTING attracted a great deal of attention and awed many visitors with Fast Track Switching technology at the last Hannover Messe. A nomination for the Hannover Messe Hermes Award technology prize and the consequent placement among the top 5 of more than 70 candidates also makes a clear statement on HARTING's innovative technology. The FTS 3100 10-port switch prototypes were presented in a live demo that allowed a close examination of the new technology's advantages. The devices were in the new metal production housing, made from aluminum continuous casting and based on a modular concept that has given rise to a complete product family.

Journalists from the trade press were just as impressed by the overall package as were lecturers and professors from various universities as well as HARTING's competitors. More important for commercial success, however, were the numerous discussions with interested potential customers who are examining Fast Track Switching as a very promising solution for their particular applications, and who want employ the technology correctly. Therefore, this was an ideal opportunity to extensively inform automation experts from machine construction as well as representatives from plant engineering and other areas, and awaken the interest of these professionals.

The first products will be the demonstrated FTS 3100 10-port switches in protection class IP 30. They will go into production in December of this year and will be joined in the 2nd quarter of 2010 by further models, such as the FTS 3060 6-port switch.
