con:card+ HARTING and ept cooperation continues to be successful

ept and HARTING to present at electronica 2006

The ept and HARTING companies are presenting their new products for AdvancedTCA® and MicroTCATM sectors at the „electronica 2006“ trade fair. One year after the start of the cooperation and successful launch of the AdvancedMCTM connectors, the two companies are now bringing a new, improved generation of these products to the market: the „con:card+“.

The core element of the new „con:card+“ connector is the „GuideSpring“. The AMC.0 specification calls for very low tolerances in cards, and these tolerances cannot always be met with certainty in fully automated series production. As a result, the circuit board industry is reaching its limits when it comes to profitable manufacturing. The connector with GuideSpring introduced by HARTING and ept compensates for the large tolerances of the card by means of defined positioning. As a result, reliable operation of the systems is possible, even with cards that can be profitably produced according to today's state of the technology, meaning in series production.

In an effort to bring customers highly reliable products in this demanding market segment, HARTING and ept agreed in 2005 to joint development of MicroTCA and AdvancedTCA products at a clearly outlined quality level. The extra value of these mechanically and electrically identical connectors is indicated with the „con:card+“ quality mark and is jointly advertised. Production and sales are handled independently.

In addition to signal connectors, ept and HARTING are also presenting the jointly developed power connectors for MicroTCA and AdvancedTCA at „electronica 2006“
